Congratutions to Peter and Lisa Henderson on receiving Life Membership at the 2022 AGM.

Both have been members at CBYC for over a decade and members of the wider sailing community, far longer.

Peter Henderson has sailed in 125s, a core class of the CBYC, since 1989 in boats Overdraft, Purple Mushroom, Carnivore and Shine On. He has completed a total of 229 races over 16 years and has been the champion of this class at CBYC for 10 years consecutively. Pete has won CBYC Sailor of the Year twice in 2013 & 2017 and also Supporter of Junior Sailing 2022. He has also represented the club at numerous Queen of the Gulf Regattas, State and National competitions.

Peter has been the main instigator of the Junior Sailing Program for over 5 years and is one of the clubs Qualified Sailing Instructors. He has been a regular volunteer within the kitchen, as well in repairing and maintaining club boats.

Peter has been on the CBYC committee as Sailing Officer for four years (2016/2017, 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020) and held the position of Rear Commodore, for one year (2020/2021).

Lisa Henderson has been a core volunteer for the CBYC sailing season for many years, often running the races and the bridge, ensuring the safety of all competitors. Some of her many tasks have included race starter, handicapper, managing presentation nights, sign on and off sheets. She has also supported her family and other competitors in competitions throughout the Eyre Peninsula and beyond. Lisa won Sailing Supporter in 2015 and 2021.

Lisa has consistently volunteered in the kitchen and held the position of Secretary for the 2016/2017 season and a core volunteer for the Junior Sailing Program, assisting in managing the participants as well as ensuring their safety.
